About MMYC

Getting better every day, the Marina Mile Yachting Center formerly the New River Dry Dock is to making strides toward becoming another premier Mega-Yacht service facility in Fort Lauderdale’s famed Marina Mile.  With dockage for Yachts up to 50 meters and a signature graving dock to dry-dock yachts up to 145 feet the facility is undergoing massive infrastructure improvements and locking up “anchor” yacht service providers.

Frank Herhold, the Executive Director of the 800 member Marine Industries Association of South Florida, welcomes the re-opening: “Because it’s location and facilities are well-known and appreciated by yacht owners, their crews, and their contractors, and with its reputation as a secure harbor and ‘Hurricane Hole,’ Marina Mile Yachting Center should quickly become the home port to many of the area’s top yachts and the marine trades that service them.”

Margaret Croxton, Executive Director of the 70-member “Marina Mile Association,” added this encore: “It’s great news to see that this landmark Marina Mile property will finally be redeveloped to its fullest potential and offer safe and secure harbor for yachts both large and small. This project will provide needed additional service work and jobs for our industry. After several recent shipyard closings, new sales to investors and developers of Mr. Israel’s status have provided a rebirth of several of the properties that make Marina Mile one of the unique yachting destinations in the world.”
